How much do tryouts, and season cost?

A $10.00 nonrefundable tryout fee is required to tryout.  If your son makes a team a $350.00 start up fee is required.  Each age group will have a separate budget for the season, all budget details will be reviewed and discussed at tryouts.  Payments will be spread out over 7 months to help make the payment process easier.  Parents must be present at time of tryouts to sign paperwork and review season budget.

What are the payment responsibilities?

A time period of 24 hours passes after the submission of the player’s forms and fees. If a player who is already committed to AZ Fear can not transfer to another club unless they are officially released by the club director. There is no obligation for AZ Fear to release a player. A player release form must be signed by BOTH the director and the parent. It is then given to USA Volleyball for approval. A player is responsible for paying the season costs if they choose to leave.

Is playing time guaranteed?

Club volleyball is a competitive sport which directly determines amount of playing time. Many considerations are involved in the amount of playing time a player receives, for example, player committment to the team, attendance, performance, and attitude. Every player will receive equal attention from the coaches. At tournaments, the coach will take these all into account when determining line-ups.

What about player commitment?

This is talked about at the parent meeting, as well as with the individual coach of your child’s team.

Practices?

There will be 2 practices per week, unless otherwise told by your coach. Practices last 2 hours. Practices are all located at Kingdom Courts or Grand Canyon University. It is extremely important to attend all practices, failure to do so may leave your child sitting on the bench at tournaments.
